Sierra Ballet is dedicated to providing an accessible ballet program of the highest quality. Our presence in the local community allows individuals of any age and any skill level to explore what is undoubtedly the most beautiful and sophisticated genre of dance.
Director, Kristen Loving is a native of Placerville and trained locally by Carol Fisher, Robert Ronan, Bobby Bader, and Margarete Pharis. Kristen is bringing classical ballet to the foothills!
Pre-Ballet 4-6 years old
Sara Schneider has the unique ability to create a stimulating and imaginative ballet class, yet maintain the terminology and techniques to establish a strong foundation for classical ballet basics .Children will have fun learning to love dance!
Killian Stephens has extensive experience as a professional ballerina. In 2004, Killian was a Youth America Grand Prix New York City finalist and in 2007 was the first ballerina awarded the prestigious Silver Level commendation by Mikhail Baryshnikov for the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts YoungArts competition. Killian danced professionally with Ballet Arizona (soloist), Nova Ballet (soloist), Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (guest artist), and the Allegro Ballet Theater. Killian brings her experience to Sierra Ballet to provide the highest quality training in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Kristen Loving teaches the Ballet I (7-11 year old) ballerinas. Kristen's classes focus on ballet techniques to provide a strong foundation, and guiding children to love dance and performing art.
Instructor Kristen Loving creates a safe and dynamic exercise program by encouraging individual strengths and modifying exercises for chronic injuries. Kristen is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and a Certified Tape Practitioner (FMT). She holds Pilates certifications with Polestar, AFAA, Physical Mind Institute, and Stamina.
The Pilates program is strengthening and restorative for adults of all physical abilities, and beneficial for the aspiring ballerina
